I just joined your site as a member, so I'm not sure if I count as a guest now. But I just wanted to thank you for building this site as it is such a welcome relief to find the truth when you feel like you're choking on the very air around you it is filled with such nimble-minded nonsense. It is my belief that schools are beginning to practice abusive techniques to "whip those students into shape" as early on as kindergarten. Public ones, anyway. The Montessori school I worked at believe only in re-direction. These schools around here practice yelling, grabbing, smart alec answers like "whatever" when questioned about them. Sick stuff. I surely hope not ALL schools are as bad as the ones I've been unfortunate enough to be a part of.
yeah school sucks so bad...i mean y do we have to learn something we r not interested in the future...the worst i hate about school is waking up in the morning...i fucking hate that...y the morning y not like at 12 or something...SCHOOL IS GAY
Since your parents are in charge of you, you would really need to get their agreement about homeschooling.
I think you should find some books about homeschooling and show them to your parents. John Taylor Gatto was named New York's Teacher of the Year - and he realized long ago how bad schools were. He is a homeschooling advocate. Check it out: http://www.johntaylorgatto.com - you might want to email him for advice. He's been advising teenagers for many years.
Hello, I love your website. And I wonder if you could help me, I've told my parents that I dislike school and if there was anything I could do like homeschooling. They basicaly told me to "suck it up". I need help on an approach. Do I disobey? All I want to do is maybe write a book or something easy! I asked my dad why I have to go to school and that I never signed up for this. What do you think I should do? Sorry to bother you.
I LOVE your site! And, of course, totally agree with everything you're saying. Please visit the website for our conference. If you're nearby, maybe you'd like to come! www.unschoolingconference.com
